Rib Pains

For some people rib pain can become recurring and ongoing, and for these people the problem can be the source of great frustrations. The following are common causes of rib pain that are treated in an interventional pain management setting: broken/fracture rib (a rib fracture is a break in a rib bone. Frequently, bruised muscles and ligaments accompany a rib fracture), rib cartilage injury, postherpetic neuralgia/shingles, radiating pain due to upper/mid-back pathology (bulged thoracic disc, arthritic changes in the thoracic spine, thoracic disc degeneration), and post thoracotomy pain. There are many procedures available to treat these conditions.
